Hardacre Film Festival

The Hardacre Film Festival is Iowa's longest-running film festival. Based in Tipton, Iowa, the festival is held annually in the city's historic Hardacre Theater. The festival shows independent films from all over the world.

Started in 1996 by Tipton-based independent film fans, the festival typically runs the first full weekend in August, during Tipton's Ridiculous Days event.

The festival variably awards filmmakers in nine categories:

• Best Narrative Feature Film
• Best Short Film
• Best Documentary
• Best Student Film
• Best Experimental Film
• Best Animated Film
• Troy Peters Best Iowa Film (named after the festival's founder)
• Audience Award
